Our Foodbank is run by local people for local and we are fortunate that so many local people and groups share your wish to help local people who are in crisis.
We are busier now than ever. With an increase of 30% from 2020 in the volume of food we are giving out, and lots of people are coming to us for help with fuel bills, this is called Fuel Support.
Our money is now half where it was 12 months ago.
We did have good financial support during Covid but now as fuel and food costs are going up, the need is greater, the costs for us to function are greater and we are spending £750-£1,000 a month on buying food in for parcels and providing energy support for people on pre-payment key or card systems. They would otherwise be cold or unable to cook – the heating or eating debate is real for many people we support.
